The Russo brothers identified in very controversial game techniques worthy of the genius Steven Spielberg.
With the evolution of graphics in video games, this medium has been able to tell stories in an elaborate and aesthetic way. While there are some who prefer gameplay and loathe cinematic sequences as a means of developing the story, the truth is that it has become an integral part of major productions. Some of the top filmmakers praised what 2 PlayStation franchises achieved.
On the occasion of the release of The Gray Man, the Russo brothers, directors of The Avengers: Endgame, participated in a dynamic with IGN in which they rated some escape or chase sequences from video games.
Among those selected was Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, which includes an incredible chase sequence. Without going into much detail, both Joe and Anthony Russo talked about how Naughty Dog projected Nathan Drake and Sam Drake’s escape on a motorcycle, which they found similar to the sequence seen in the movie Skyfall (in which James Bond appears riding a motorcycle on rooftops), and they gave it a 7 out of 10. That’s not all, as Joe Russo stated, ” Uncharted is one of the best action video game franchises of all time.”
THE LAST OF US: PART II IS ONE OF THE BEST GAMES ACCORDING TO JOE RUSSO
The praise for Sony franchises did not end there, since The Last of Us: Part II also appeared in the selection . Again, without going into too much detail, the chase that was rated was one of the best, as Russo highlighted good use of a limited field of view, great sound design, character tracking, and obstacles that actually they make you feel tension in the flight.

There was more praise for The Last of Us: Part II , as this Russo brother also mentioned that as a whole this sequence could well be worthy of the techniques of Steven Spielberg, one of the most recognized filmmakers in the world. Likewise, Joe Russo stated that it is “one of the best games ever made” and the scene in question was awarded a 9 out of 10, the best of all, among which there was also one from It Takes Two , one from Resident Evil Village and another from Heavy Rain.
