Ubisoft delayed the next Assassin’s Creed without telling anyone

by admin

The project would be smaller than Valhalla but would focus on stealth.

This week, Ubisoft Entertainment made a financial results presentation in which they shared a lot of news. One of them was the delay of the Avatar game; However, the reality is that it is not the only game in its catalog that suffered this fate. It just so happens that Ubisoft also delayed the next Assassin’s Creed, but without letting anyone know.

According to information from Jason Schreier, a journalist writing for Bloomberg, the next Assassin’s Creed – known by the code name Rift – has been delayed. Apparently, the plan was for it to debut sometime in February 2023, but now it’s not until spring. That is, it will arrive between May and June 2023.

The report notes that this is the title he was referring to in his tax report when he said Avatar and a “smaller unannounced premium project” had been delayed. It is worth mentioning that the person who shared this information preferred to remain anonymous since the information is not yet public.

An important point is that Schreier’s source mentions that we will have more news about Assassin’s Creed Rift in the near future. According to him, the game would be revealed in September as part of the Assassin’s Creed anniversary celebrations.

Now, what do we know about Assassin’s Creed: Rift? Before continuing, we want to point out that this game has not yet been officially announced. Therefore, the information that we will present below only corresponds to unofficial details from sources that we consider reliable.

It is said that Assassin’s Creed: Rift will be a game that will transport us to the Middle East, more specifically in the city of Baghdad and would have Basim, a character from Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, as the protagonist. In fact, this project was originally going to be an expansion for the more recent Assassin’s Creed; However, it evolved into an individual project, but on a smaller scale, to complete delivery.

One detail that will likely excite fans is that Assassin’s Creed: Rift is reportedly going to be stealth-focused, which will feel like a little return to the franchise’s roots. Of course, the reality is that it will maintain the RPG systems that have been present since Origins.

What do you think about this news? Are you excited about the new Assassin’s Creed? Tell us in the comments.
